We’re better off without any rep in parliament – Akyem Tafo youth to Abuakwa MP

Angry residents of Akyem Tafo in the Abuakwa North constituency have threatened to vote against their member of Parliament, Gifty Twum Ampofo, as they are better off without a representative in the house of legislature.

Speaking with MyNewsGh.com in an interview, some of the residents said since they gave the power to her as Member of Parliament, their MP has done nothing for them.

“She has done nothing for us and there is no need in giving her another four years, it as if we have no MP, we won’t talk much but we promise to kick her out in 2020,” they told MyNewsGh.com.

Some market women also poured out their anger with one saying, “I never knew we have a member of parliament, you just told me I taught she is dead she has done nothing for us, if she is not ready to work we will kick her out”.

According to the residents, they have no toilet facilities, and their market is uncompleted.

They claimed they have talked to her about their needs but she turns a death ear to it.
