We’re so much impressed with Bagbin – NDC delegates
Some delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region have had a change of mind about the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, after having the opportunity to interact with him.
More importantly, the delegates noted, is the vision of Hon. Bagbin which of Hon. Bagbin which he outlined to them at separate meetings in the Central Region.
In the view of some of the delegates, prior to their encounter with Hon. Bagbin who is one of the flagbearer hopefuls of the NDC, they had their own
perception about the Nadowli/Kaleo lawmaker.
But having listened to him on Sunday, they have had a change of mind after realising that all the bad things they heard about Hon. Bagbin were all lies told by his political opponents.
The Deputy Treasurer, Assin Central NDC, Dominic Kwabena Darkwa said “In fact, I have heard a very good message today. We didn’t know that Hon. Bagbin will be able to impress us.
His message is centered on strengthening the party structures and giving hope to party members who have been neglected for a very long time having served the party in diverse ways. His message has won my heart. Because someone will serve the party for many years and will later be neglected.
But Hon. Bagbin is saying that when we give him our mandate, he is going to change things for us. Nothing inspires us more than this particular message. If we give the nod to lead the party and eventually become the President of the land, our lives will never be the same”.
The Assin Central NDC Women’s Organiser, Agartha Yawson also had this to say “I am so happy about the message Hon. Bagbin delivered, especially, the unity that he is preaching about. I was also enthused about how he intends to strenghthen the party by rewarding loyalty. I will encourage him to continue this way.
I will however advise him like he said to support any candidate who wins, especially, with his message and help that candidate to implement it when we win power in 2020”.
Some of the delegates also believe that having now been enlightened about happenings in the party, it will be better to vote for somebody or a candidate who can go beyond just four years.
“I am very much enthused about the message delivered by Hon. Bagbin. Prior to that I’ve heard a lot about him on social media with people calling him names and all sorts of things and at times I get confused that how come somebody who wants to lead this party is throwing all sorts of ‘bombs’. But after listening to him today, I got to know that we are destroying our own party with lies. So, I am very much happy about him for this occasion.
I will send the message down. We didn’t know that a certain President is coming and will have only a four-year term. So, if you rally behind that leader, four years and he is gone. This shouldn’t happen. He has had his time and now we have to bring somebody who can go beyond four years. The plans Hon. Bagbin has for this party, I believe if he is given the chance, it will help all of us”, noted Duke Denori, Assin North Constituency.
The Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament began his tour in the Central Region on Thursday, November 8, 2018.
