The Regional Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western Region, Mr. Charles Nana Banyin Onuawonto Bissue who is contesting to retain his seat has said he is poised to work harder to amass more votes for the party in the region.

He said he will do this in partnership with his other executives who will be elected at their delegates’ congress scheduled for Saturday, 21st April, 2018 at Tarkwa UMAT's auditorium.

According to him, the current eighteen parliamentary seats for the party in the region must rise to twenty one in the 2020 general elections. Speaking to Samuel Kojo Brace on Skyy Power FM’s Jolly Breakfast Show over the weekend Mr. Charles Bissue indicated that the 21 seats agenda for the 2020 election will require experienced minds and hands to achieve such success.

“In the 2016 elections, the Western Region was the best in terms of percentage, even though Central Region had more seats. We appreciated in terms of percentage more than every other region in Ghana. This means that, the team which worked for this success can consolidate more for the region in the 2020 elections,” he explained.

Attacks

Responding to the various attacks and allegations of fraud against his person in the run up to the Regional Executive Elections, Mr. Bissue said he believes these allegations are mere propaganda to mar his hard earned reputation in the political circles and destroy him in the face of the delegates. According to him, these have rather strengthened him to work hard for the party.

“The New Patriotic Party believes in competition because competition brings the best out of people. If this is the case, then I believe that we should compete within the confines of the party’s rules and regulations because we all belong to the same party and after the elections, there will still be NPP. So why should we fabricate stories against our opponents for our selfish gains? This is not what the NPP stands for and it is unhealthy for the Party and we are only providing our opponents with ammunitions to destroy us,” Mr. Bissue said.

According to him, winning more seats for the party does not require working 24/7 from the party’s office, rather going down to the people and fishing out the demands of every single member of the party and working to meet their demands appropriately.

Charles Cromwell Nana Banyin Onuawonto Bissue urged the delegates of the party in the Western Region to vote for him to enable him work with the grassroots to solicit their support in winning over twenty one seats for the region in the 2020 elections.
