West Akyem endorses Municipal Chief Executive

Asamankese, April 24, GNA - The West Akyem District Assembly on Friday confirmed Mr Seth Otchere, the President's nominee, as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area. Sixty-five of the assembly members voted for his endorsement, with two against and one rejected ballot. In his acceptance speech, Mr Otchere, a Mechanical Engineer and Educationist, thanked the assembly for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work with members as a team to move the developmental agenda of the assembly forward. He promised to be fair and do justice to all and take constructive criticism in good faith.

Sixty-five of the assembly members voted for his endorsement, with two against and one rejected ballot. In his acceptance speech, Mr Otchere, a Mechanical Engineer and Educationist, thanked the assembly for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work with members as a team to move the developmental agenda of the assembly forward. Mr Otchere asked the people in the municipality to unite so that together they could build a better and prosperous society. The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Samuel Ofosu- Ampofo, praised members of the assembly for endorsing Mr Otchere, and called on them to co-operate with him for the good of the municipality. He asked the MCE to realize that he had been given a great responsibility and hoped he would live up to expectation. Mr Ofosu-Ampofo advised Mr Otchere to be humble in the discharge of his duties and to be a good team player. He entreated the contractor working on the rehabilitation of the assembly hall to complete the work within the week or have the contract terminated.
