Takoradi, Nov.22, GNA - The Western Regional executive of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has declared its unflinching support for Mr. Peter Mac-Manu, immediate past Regional Chairman of the party in his bid to win the National Chairmanship position of the party at the forthcoming congress.
In a press statement issued at Takoradi on Tuesday and signed by Nana Owusu Ankomah, Regional Chairman, the executive said Mr. Mac-Manu's experience in party administration was second to none. "His commitment, loyalty, dedication to the cause of the NPP, among other attributes make him stand up tall among other contestants", the statement said, and hoped "the good lord will crown his efforts with victory come December 17."
The statement said the decision by members of the regional executive to give Mr. Mac-Manu their full backing was taken at meeting at which the party's achievements and growth in the region under his leadership since 1996 was critically examined.
"Other regions have communicated to us their readiness to vote for Mac-Manu, the statement said.
It appealed to the rank and file of the party who might have been affected by actions of Mac Manu in the cause of his duties to forgive him and support his bid to become the National Chairman of the party.
