Western Regional Minister tours biometric and BECE centres

Mr. Paul Evans Aidoo, Western Regional Minister, has appealed to eligible voters to participate in the on-going biometric exercise.

He also cautioned against double registration and said those who would indulge in it would be dealt with.

Mr. Aidoo said this when he together with Mr. Kojo Appiah, Shama District Chief Executive and Nii Larte Cleland, Regional Education Director, toured some BECE and biometric centres in the Shama District.

The Minister's first point of call was at the "Ata na Ata" DA Primary School at Asamase where over 380 eligible voters had registered during the third phase of the exercise.

At the Asamase Public Square also in the Shama District, over 170 people had registered while the Suopom-Dunkwa Child Welfare Centre had recorded 583 at the time of visit.

Mr. Aidoo stopped at the Suopom-Dunkwa JHS where 159 candidates were writing the BECE; the Supervisor, Mr. Philip Adu-Wilson, said 160 candidates registered but a boy absented himself.

At the Shama Senior High School, two boys out of 281 were absent.

The Regional Minister expressed satisfaction at the general high level of attendance at the BECE in the region this year.**
