Joyce Bawah Mogtari, an aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, has reiterated that Mahama will not engage in a debate with Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer.

In a recent social media post, Mogtari emphasized that there is no basis for a debate between the two presidential candidates.

She argued that the current state of the economy, which she described as "crashed and broke," leaves nothing substantial to discuss or debate.

“My Dear Brothers and Sisters, what really is there to debate about? There is absolutely nothing left to debate. The economy has crashed and the country is broke.

“‘We dey for gutter inside.’ A steering wheel without a car can't get anyone anywhere. Let's vote wisely, choose experience,” Mogtari stated in her post.

Dr. Bawumia had called for a debate on the economy with Mahama.

However, the former president, who is also the flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has yet to respond to the invitation.
