Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has disclosed details of a newly introduced “Leaders Forum” aimed at promoting ideological and policy discussions between Ghana’s major political factions.

Speaking at the Speaker’s Breakfast Forum on March 4, 2026, he said the platform allows parliamentary leaders to present well-researched papers on their parties’ political orientations and policy directions.

He revealed that the Minority Leader recently presented a paper on the concept of a centre-right political party, referencing the ideological position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“The Minority Leader had the opportunity to present a well-researched paper on what is referred to as a centre-right party because the New Patriotic Party is referred to as a centre-right party,” he said.

He added that the Majority Leader will soon deliver a presentation on the centre-left political philosophy associated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The Speaker described the Leaders Forum as one of the ways Parliament is connecting with the public through structured dialogue and intellectual engagement, noting that recent sessions attracted large gatherings.
