Frank Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Appiah Stadium, a dedicated member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has praised Kwabena Aduomi, an independent candidate in the recently-ended Ejisu by-election, for his remarkable performance.

Appiah Stadium expressed his admiration for Aduomi's resilience in the face of challenging tactics employed by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the elections.

He indicated that despite the defeat, Aduomi's determination and courage have earned him recognition.

In a heartwarming gesture, Appiah Stadium knelt before Aduomi, shook his hand, and kissed his feet as signs of gratitude for his unwavering spirit in the Ejisu by-election.

In a video shared by Express GH TV and sighted by GhanaWeb, Appiah Stadium encouraged Aduomi to contest in the general elections, predicting his triumph.

"Since I started following politics, I have never seen an independent candidate fight in an election like this. I even heard they [the NPP] brought some schoolchildren to vote. You have to thank the chief in Ejisu and your hometown residents for their massive support.

"With this performance, I would urge you to contest the general elections and victory shall be yours. I kneel down to appreciate you for the good fight. I am proud of you," he said.

About the Ejisu by-elections:

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Kwabena Boateng, emerged as the Member of Parliament-elect after securing 55.8% of the total valid votes cast.

Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, an independent parliamentary candidate, came in second with 43.3% of the votes.

The outcome means the NPP retains a seat it held since 2020, maintaining its 138 MPs in parliament, compared to the NDC's 137.

The MP-elect is expected to be sworn in by Speaker Alban Bagbin when parliament reconvenes.

The by-election came about after the death of the sitting MP - the late former Deputy Minister of Finance, John Kumah.
