Founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Madam Akua Donkor, has described the minority in Parliament as a bunch of disgraceful legislators who exhibited a complete lack of maturity when they boycotted His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama’s first State of the Nation Address.

According to the former aspiring president of the GFP party, the minority boycotting was the foulest ever she could expect from the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“What wasn’t appropriate in the house (Parliament) is the boycotting by the minority. They (Minority caucus) were thinking they wanted to disgrace the President. They rather disgraced the whole nation and the world because foreigners where there to grace to occasion. They (NPP MPs) did not disgrace the President but rather the whole nation and the world,” she stated.

Speaking on OKAY FM, Madam Akua Donkor dared the minority caucus to boycott receiving their allowances and salaries since they have vowed not to attend any state function concerning the President whom they describe as a “Thief”.

“If he (president) is a thief, why then do they (NPP MP’s) still receive their allowances and monthly salaries from the same thief? They should reject the monies as well. If the president is either from NDC or NPP he (President Mahama) is still a Ghanaian so we must all help to build a better Ghana despite his affiliation with the NDC,” she stated.

Commenting on the current erratic power supply, Madam Akua Donkor called on the President to fire the head of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) who she alleges is an NPP activist.

“The truth about the ‘dum sor dum sor’ (blackouts) is that, until the president sacks the ECG boss who is an NPP member, we (Ghanaians) will continue to experience it. The man (ECG boss) wants to disgrace the Mahama-led administration. If Mahama does not appoint his own party member to run the affairs at ECG, this ‘dum sor dum sor’ will never stop and it will go down the history of this nation that during his (Mahama’s) administration, Ghana became a ‘dum sor dum sor’ nation,” she said.
