Bernard Antwi Bosiako and Justin Frimpong Kodua
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has made his first public appearance since his release by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, the NPP stalwart visited the party's headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra.
A video circulating on X shows Chairman Wontumi expressing appreciation to the General Secretary of the party, Justin Frimpong Kodua, flanked by other party supporters.
Chairman Wontumi was released from EOCO custody after successfully satisfying his bail conditions.
Justin Kodua confirmed his release on the evening of Monday, June 2, during an interview with the media.
He was granted bail to the tune of GH¢50 million with two sureties to be justified, following his arrest on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, in connection with ongoing investigations into alleged fraud, money laundering, and causing financial loss to the state.
