Work hard for CPP victory in 2008-- Ndoum

Elmina, Jan. 6, GNA- Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, Minister of Public Sector Reform, on Friday called on supporters and members of the Convention People's Party (CPP) to work harder to enable the party to make positive thrives in the 2008 general elections.
He said the CPP was still very viable and was capable of winning elections in the country and that it was time for the members to put in more efforts to set a record by electing more Members of Parliament come 2008.
Dr Nduom, who made the call during an end-of-year party he organized for unit chairmen, organizers, and Zonal, constituency and women executives of the Party at Coconut Grove in Elmina tasked the members to remain committed and resolved to the party. The members, numbering about 450 were treated to music and also presented with packed food and drinks in addition to pieces of wax print.
Dr. Nduom, who is also the member of parliament for Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) constituency said he organized the party to create the platform for members to interact with each and also for them to appreciate the fact that he is always with them and not only when it was elections time when he solicits for their votes.
Dr. Nduom said the end-of-year meetings also gives them opportunity to remember their deceased members as well as gives him the opportunity to explain to the members what he has been doing for the constituency for the past years and also to know at first had their problems. He enumerated a number of development projects
such as the construction of classroom blocks, clinics, libraries, community centres, roads and the dredging of the Benya Lagoon as some of the projects he has executed in the district and called for their continuous support.
Dr. Ndoum gave the promise that he would not rest until the whole constituency was developed adding that he would also continue to sponsor tertiary students in the district in their education.
Mr Baidoo Tetteh, constituency chairman commended Dr. Nduom for the gesture and that it would help bring him closer to the members and the district as a whole and pledged their support, adding, "we would continue to support an MP, who is development centred".
He said the party's struggle to win power was not over and that members should evolve pragmatic strategies that would help it move away from its current position in the political rankings in the country.
