Woyongo files nomination, promises more projects

Mr Mark Owen Woyongo, Minister for the Interior and Member of Parliament for Navrongo Central, said he would de-silt dams and drill more bore holes in Navrongo to provide potable water and help farmers expand their farms.

He said he had budgeted for six million US dollars from donors for the project which would be carried out next year.

Mr Woyongo made the remarks when he filed his nomination in Navrongo.

He said the project was part of measures to develop the area adding that food production and food security was of high priority.

He said he had in the past years sought to develop the area and provided many bore holes and de-silted dams for dry season farming.

Mr Woyongo said he had plans to distribute 85 laptops to 70 schools in the constituency next year, when he is re-elected to parliament.

He advised party members to be united since it was better to fight in government than in opposition and urged the youth to be patient with him.

The Navrongo Central Constituency executives, who were at the party office, pledged their support for Mr Woyongo.

Mr Fabian Sebastian Achara, the Constituency Secretary, said even though the executives were in full support of Mr Woyongo because of his competence, they still welcomed other aspirants.

He said Mr Peter Adaliba Kaba, former staff of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, had earlier filed his nomination.
