General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah has described as unfortunate comments made by the National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan.

Yaw Boateng Gyan courted controversy when he threatened to release a tape containing the names of those involved in the death of late President John Evans Atta Mills.

“I hear my opponent has been going round with a certain tape about my alleged involvement in the World Cup in Brazil. I am not worried, but people should know that there are so many tapes that we can also play. Let's not forget how someone said he would make sure the late President Mills does not run the second term; in his case not only did President Mills not run for the second term but he (President Mills) can't be found today amongst the living and these are the people we are dealing with" Yaw Boateng Gyan allegedly said in an interview on Hello FM.

A National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) John Boadu and other political pundits have called on the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) to invite the NDC kingpin for questioning.

According to them, once the name of the late President is involved, the whole nation is also involved and so Yaw Boateng Gyan should be called to reveal the names of those who allegedly killed Professor Atta Mills.

However, Yaw Boateng Gyan has denied making such allegations. According to him, if he knew the names of those who killed the late President, he would have disclosed it ‘long ago’.

Speaking to the issue in a panel discussion on Radio Gold’s Alhaji & Alhaji, Bernard Mornah said: “that statement was unfortunate…the way it was said and the way it was carried out. It is important to exercise some caution”.

Meanwhile, Bernard Mornah has also wished the NDC well in their upcoming National Delegates Congress to be held in Kumasi on December 20, 2014.

Even though the Congress is currently facing another postponement due to a new court injunction, party executives, as well as aspirants, are hopeful that it will come on as scheduled.

An aggrieved Deputy National Organizer aspirant, Emmanuel Aboagye Didiyie is seeking an injunction on the congress.

He accused the national executives of deliberately scheming to disqualify him from the race, hence, his decision to resort to the court to seek redress and to be reinstated.
