Yaw Buaben to bow out from Chief Scribe position

Sources close to Mr. Yaw Buaben Asamoa have revealed that the former New Patriotic Party Deputy Communication Director during the last general elections is considering stepping down in the race for the General Secretary due to the recent backlash he has suffered in flying his campaign. Though Mr. Asamoa was not earlier in favour of stepping down all indication seem to point to the fact that the fine soft-spoken lawyer is giving a serious consideration to step down after his 4-months campaign has failed to resonate with the delegates who are poised to ensure that the party wins power in 2016.

Mr. Asamoa's recent outburst on Kumasi-based Kessben FM on Friday 4th April, 2014 accusing some senior members of the party of hatching a plan which has ended up preventing the continuous flow of his campaign resources from some party bigwigs and close confidants of Nana Akufo Addo like Mr. Osarfo Marfo, Mr. Hackman Owusu, Mr. Boakye Agyarko amongst others. The conspiracy is to the effect that Mr. Yaw Buaben Asamoa's loyalty as former spokesperson for the two time defeated flagbearer hopeful of the NPP, Mr. Alan Kyerematen, to Nana Addo has been questioned as he is been accused of seeking the position of General Secretary to do the bidding of his former boss, Alan Cash who is lacing his boots to contest the highly tipped Nana Akufo Addo.

Just as the dust of Nana Akuffo Addo's return to the hurly-burly of active politics settled some few weeks ago, his men have critically reflected on the trustworthiness of Mr. Asamoa and have firmly concluded that Yaw Buaben may be a wolf in sheep skin. It has been reported, however that Nana Addo and some other party stalwart have spoken to Mr. Asamoa to cede his bid for the position of the party's General Secretary.

These recent development has affected and disrupted Mr. Buaben's campaign which has lost the energy with which he started. Mr. Asamoa who was formerly tipped within the Akufo Addo circles is said to have soberly reflected on his decision to step down in the race when people close to him in personal life told him the honest truth.

It has also been revealed that if he (Mr. Asamoa) finally decides to cede his bid to be elected into office he will most likely throw his weight behind Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir. John. Do not be surprised as in the coming days some bigwigs of the party who earlier on endorsed Yaw Buaben Asamoa like Dr. Amoako Tuffour would rescind their endorsement in favour of Sir John.
