The Volta regional branch of the New Patriotic Party has described as biased and misleading the NDC’s assessment and scoring of government’s performance.

The NDC at a press conference held on Thursday, June 25 stated that the NPP government led by President Akufo-Addo has achieved almost nothing in the region adding that only 3 out of 17 promises made to the region have seen some level of commitment from government. They scored the government 17% on the delivery of promises to the region.

But responding to the claims of the NDC at a press conference in Ho on Monday, Regional Chairman of the NPP Mr. Makafui Woanya stated the NPP government has done more than the NDC captured in ‘its so-called objective’ assessment while challenging the NDC’s own claims of achievements in the region.

He said the opposition NDC which has enjoyed enormous support from the people of the region has nothing to show for it but are engaged in sheer propaganda, tribal bigotry, and selective amnesia to hoodwink the people noting that people of the Volta region are now fed up and would reject the NDC from now on.

“Volta Region is not a property of the NDC. When has it become compulsory for all in Volta to be NDC?” he questioned.

Recounting the NPP government’s achievements in the Volta region, Mr. Woanya mentioned the implementation of the Free SHS policy, provision of infrastructure for schools in the region, ongoing work on roads in the region including the Eastern Corridor road, the Ho to Aflao road, the building of some warehouses and the institutional toilets under government’s One Million Dollar per Constituency, the ongoing Ho Youth Resource center project, the yet to be completed Hohoe Astroturf project as key intervention projects the region has enjoyed from the NPP.

The Volta NPP Chairman, Makafui Woanya stressed further that the “NDC has no moral right” to accuse the NPP of failed promises because that would be disingenuous.
