PRESS RELEASE:
On Monday, 13 June 2011, a ‘Youth for Nduom Exploratory Committee’ made up of some learned youth of Ghana was launched with the consent of Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom to explore his viability and visibility as a presidential candidate for Ghana in the 2012 general elections. Members of the Youth for Nduom 2012 Explorative Committee, all of whom are under the age of 35 were commissioned at a press conference held at International Press Centre in Accra. The committee’s work will include running an exploratory research on whether or not Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, could be a best option for the CPP to effectively remove the NDC-NPP monopoly syndrome in Ghana.
Although Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom was not physically present, he spoke to the conference through a telephone connection.
The Spokesperson for the Committee, Richard Nii Amarh indicated that the purpose of the exploration is to ascertain why thousands of Ghanaians followed Dr. Nduom in the 2008 elections yet did not vote for him during the actual elections. In attendance were people from all walks of life, which included Regional and Constituency representatives of the committee. The media – radio, print, television was fully represented in an impressive show of attendance. Four radio stations in Accra, Elmina, Tamale and Dunkwa carried the event live.
It is expected that the committee will come out with a report that will form the basis for the decision of Dr. Nduom on the methods, approaches, and strategies to be adopted for the 2012 Presidential campaign.
The office of Dr. Nduom, wishes to extend its gratitude to the many supporters, who were able to make it to the event.
