Cape Coast, June 28, GNA - The 93Youth for Nduom 2012," an exploratory 13-member body, has begun a nationwide tour from the Central Region to find out the viability of Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom as the presidential candidate for the Convention Peoples' Party (CPP) in 2012.
The Committee, inaugurated last month, has volunteers throughout the country to assist in exploring the weaknesses as well as the strengths of Dr. Nduom to help ensure that he performs well in the 2012 elections.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Cape Coast on Tuesday the spokesperson of the Committee, Mr. Richard Nii Amarh, said in view of the abysmal performance by Dr. Nduom and the CPP in the 2008 general elections it had become necessary to undertake an exploratory mission to ascertain the reasons for the poor show.
It would engage people at market places, offices, lorry stations and public gatherings, interview people through questionnaires and also have radio talk shows to solicit peoples' views on Dr. Nduom's candidature and present a report to his office to enable him make an informed decision.
Mr. Amarh said the research had become necessary as a result of the fact that a lot of people admitted in 2008 that Dr. Nduom was a good Presidential material but failed to vote for him, a puzzle they are yet to unravel.
He said Dr. Nduom would declare his intentions to contest after the committee had submitted its report.
