Gwollu (U/W), March 03, GNA - Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, the Minister of Tourism and the Modernization of the Capital City, has advised NPP members to tell the truth no matter what the situation might be. Addressing party members as part of his two-day visit to the Upper West Region, he "It is always better to tell them the truth even if it is unpalatable, than to tell them lies that would please them for a moment and allow them to loose confidence in you and the party". He said under the circumstances, it was extremely difficult to satisfy everybody in terms of job acquisition adding "we shall not tell lies that we can employ everybody in the country."

The Minister advised them to engage in income generation activities where the government could intervene for them to expand their businesses.

He said those who keep on shouting that there was no money in people's pockets were those who cheated in the past and because of the vigilance of the government could no longer cheat. "For me and you who have never cheated before, we still feel that everything is on course for the development of the country". Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey said people who really appreciate good governance and the rule of law would realize that the government was doing its best to bring development to the doorsteps of the people. He called on the youth to remain loyal and resolute to principles and policies of the party for them to once again win the next general elections.

The party members among other things appealed to the minister to give them some recognition by creating jobs opportunities for them. 03 March 06
