NPP Women's Organiser extols Party's achievements

Offinso (Ash), Aug 17, GNA - Mrs Mary Brobbey, Ashanti Regional Women's Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stated that the current peace, stability and development being enjoyed in the country is an ample demonstration of good governance.

She said the present aura of freedom, respect for fundamental human rights and the rule of law as prevailing in the country are the evidence of the Government's success and called on the citizenry to help consolidate such gains.

Mrs Brobbey was addressing about 50 women of the Offinso South branch of the NPP women's wing at Offinso. She said the government would not shirk its responsibilities to provide infrastructure and other basic amenities needed to enhance the living conditions of the people.

The Women's organiser noted that the introduction of the Capitation Grant and feeding systems in schools, as well as the national Health Insurance scheme, testify to the government's commitment to the development of the nation.

She said plans were advanced for the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs (MOWAC) to facilitate loans to support about 500 women in the Offinso South Constituency to enable them expand their Businesses.

Miss Kaakyire Badu Fofie, Hyiaeso Constituency Womens' organiser of the NPP appealed to the women to invest in the education of their children.

She also urged them to work harder to increase their income in order to support their spouses in the upbringing of their children. Miss Paulina Konadu, Offinso South Women's Organiser, said a total of 500 women have been mobilised to do pepper and ginger farming to raise income to support activities of the Party.
