Jacobu-Ashanti, Sept. 13, GNA ? Forty-six candidates including a woman are contesting for the 16 electoral areas in Amansie Central District of Ashanti.
However, Unit Committee Elections would be conducted in 43 out of the 99 units in the district.
Mr Dominic Baryim, Amansie Central District Returning Officer briefing newsmen at Jacobu, said in some units no candidates filed whilst sole candidates were contesting in other units. He said some problems had been identified and that security in those areas would be beefed up to avert any electoral malpractices during the voting day.
Mr Baryim appealed to the electorates especially former assembly members not seeking for re-election to assist to make the elections in their communities successful.
