The CPP has never been more united than it is now. It has many old and new Leaders – Dr Edmund Delle, National Chairman and Leader, Mr George Aguddey, Prof. Agyeman Badu Akosah, Dr Kwaku Osafo, Prof Nii Noi Dowouna, Mr Johnny Hanson, Mr Micheal Nunoo, Dr Nii Moi Thompson, Mr Kwesi Pratt jnr, Mr Bright Akwetey, Mr Iddi Egala, Dr Osei, Mr Robert Woode, Dr Nasser Adam and many Regional and local Leaders , all of them loyal to the CPP and forging ahead in Unity.
There is a plan afoot however to derail that united locomotive, to stop it moving forward as a bullet train to victory.
CPP resurgence is undeniable and the plan is designed to prevent further progress of the great CPP.
At the helm of this plan is Dr Kwesi Ndoum The plan is taking shape in many forms and the Sons and Daughters of the CPP must and will stand firm to resist his diabolical plan.
Dr Nduom was a Minister of Energy in the NPP government, and has recently left the NPP government as Minister for Public Sector Reform.
There are many who view Dr Ndoum's stint in the NPP Government as a public service to the Nation. Dr Ndoum himself has began to position himself as someone who has served Ghana before himself and his party and that this is the way forward for Ghana as a nation.
The truth is that he is a traitor who betrayed has betrayed Nkrumaists and the CPP.
The circumstances surrounding his exit from the NPP Government has become a matter for debate as his former "CPP 5TH Columnists" in the media have moved to provide a different account of his departure. So was he sacked or did he resign? That is a question which should not be easily overlooked.
Dr Ndoum is a man who first entered Ghana's politics via the NDC, he fell out with them and attached himself to the CPP then crossed carpet to serve in the NPP government, whilst clinging on to his CPP membership in a "5 th Columnist" way. Now we are told he has fallen out with the NPP and wants to be a CPP Flagbearer. Many point to opportunism, others to selfishness. The concern for the CPP must be "what is Dr Ndoum's Agenda Now?"
For the "CPP Sons and Daughters" the answer lies in his words and deeds. He has been in breach of the party's constitution on many occasions and broken virtually every disciplinary code as noted below and thus why should he now seek to front the Party he has abused and ridiculed? Why indeed?
He has supported candidates in opposition to CPP candidates and disloyal and unfaithful to the CPP Brought the party into disrepute, contempt and public ridicule. Committed acts prejudicial to upholding the solidarity and unity of the Party. Failed to report in obligation to report to the Party on the work of Members of Parliament Failed to observe provisions of the Constitution relating to the election and removal of the leadership Committed acts prejudicial to the supremacy of the Party Committed acts prejudicial to the good standing of the CPP Failed to observe provisions of the CPP Constitution relating to ideology, membership and aims and objectives of the Party
In the coming months he and his paid friends will seek to hide the truth or cast doubt on some of these things and thus it is in the interest of hardworking CPP members and also in the public interest that these things are put on public record.
A Copy of the Ghanaian Chronicle of 27th January 2006 would confirm that in the 2004 presidential election, Dr Nduom campaigned for the NPP candidate, Mr J. A. Kufuor, against the CPP candidate, Mr George Aggudey.
That in the 2004 parliamentary election, Dr Nduom campaigned for the NPP candidate, Ms Christine Churcher against the CPP candidate, Ms Araba Bentsi-Enchill.
Dr Nduom had printed 'T' shirts and posters showing his photograph and that of Mr J. A. Kufuor.
The Statesman of the 16-17 November 2005 would confirm that In an interview with the Ghana News Agency after the National Executive Council of 10th November 2005, Dr Nduom stated that 'the leadership of the Party is not the best. It is difficult to be led by such people. It is a blot on the record of the CPP'.
He had also said that the leadership had 'proved their inability to bring to a logical conclusion discussions on a pertinent issue such as the unity talks. All our members showed enthusiasm. The youth were represented and the ground was prepared for a full discussion. But the Chairman and his colleagues announced that the discussions on the unity with the PNC were inconclusive and ended the meeting abruptly Contrary to Dr Nduom's claim, the Chairman gave a report on the merger with the PNC and the agreements reached thereof, including the adoption of the CPP as the name of the new Party, the coconut as the symbol, and Forward Ever with Honest Service as the motto.
Contrary to Dr Nduom's claim, the Chairman did not end the meeting abruptly. The meeting ended with the adoption of a motion accepting the merger with the PNC and the CPP as the name of the new Party. The motion asked persons with views on residual issues such as the symbol and the motto make them known to the Central Committee.
the Statesman of the 12-13th December 2005 as well as that of the 16-17th October 2005 would also confirm an interview with the Statesman when Dr Nduom stated in response to a question about his presidential ambition that 'how can you become the Presidential Candidate of a party that is not on the ground?
It was reported that Dr Nduom called a meeting at his Coconut Grove Regency Hotel in Accra on the 2nd December 2005 at which a document entitled 'Is there a need for A New Party?' was discussed. The document outlines the vision of the New Party.
In the interview with the Ghana News Agency which was reproduced in the Statesman, Dr Nduom called for like-minded people from the two sides of the Nkrumaist tradition to get together to present a new image with the same ideology and policy options the CPP stands for'.
In the same interview Dr Nduom also stated that Ghana needed another political party that could provide an alternative to the ruling NPP.
Dr Nduom thus threatened the cohesion and unity of the CPP.
In an interview with the Daily Graphic on 9th January 2006, Dr Nduom said he was frustrated by the lack of good leadership to manage the affairs of the CPP, a statement he had persistently made which was designed to register in the public mind and thus bring the Party into disrepute, public ridicule and contempt.
The Daily Graphic, of the 9th January 2006 confirms Dr Ndoum's failure to respect the party or its Leadership.
The leadership of the Party was elected at a National Party Congress in 2003 for a four year term. Their mandate was therefore due to expire in 2007 In Dr Nduom's interview with the Daily Graphic, Dr Nduom gave the party an ultimatum to change its leadership by June 2006, failing which the party should not blame anybody for either forming a new political party or joining another party.
In an interview in The Crusading Guide, Dr Nduom made a number of misleading claims that undermines the good standing of the Party:
'there is no party and there is no organization because there have been terrible traces of bad leadership.' 'the leadership did not go anywhere during the 2004 elections.' 'bad leadership is fermenting talk of a new party.' if the CPP leaders do not step down there will be no CPP in 2008.
In a press conference held in the House of Parliament on 19th December 2006, Dr Nduom and his two parliamentary colleagues made a number of unsubstantiated claims, including the following:
the leadership of the two parties (CPP and PNC) are fanning the negative flame of no unity, no victory in 2008 our leadership are demonstrating their inability to lead their parties to achieve our objective they themselves have loudly and proudly championed it has been pointed out by some that having led the Party to achieve disastrous results in December 2004 elections, the leadership should have stepped down the leadership has rather become more intolerant of opposing views on how to rejuvenate the Parties they seem content to hang on to their positions without regard to the facts on the ground we therefore call on the Leadership of the Party to resign their positions so that an interim Executive can be put in place Dr Nduom has been co-operating in Parliament with the New Patriotic Party whose ideology of Property Owning Democracy is in contradistinction to the CPP's ideology of Nkrumaism.
Having undermined the CPP in this way all this while, can this man now be trusted to lead the CPP to victory?, the answer is an emphatic no because apart from the problem of credibility that this poses, Dr Ndoum has demonstrated his hatred of the CPP. What then is his agenda for seeking to be CPP Flagbearer? Well his pronouncements have not succeeded in killing the party, the party is very much alive and making a strong come back. Dr Ndoum has thus hatched a new plot to take over the CPP and lead it directly to the cemetery for burial . We will not allow this to happen.
Dr Kwesi Ndoum represents the biggest threat that the CPP has ever faced, the Party is united and must remain united against Dr Ndoum.
Our future lies in the new leaders of the united party further uniting with our brothers and sisters, fellow sons and daughters in the PNC to fight the next election or in a grand Nkrumaist Alliance for Victory.
The CPP and PNC united does not need Kwesi Ndoum , the man who has done his utmost to destroy us in words as well as deeds should not be allowed to take our great party to the slaughter house.
His actions are not the actions of someone just serving his country but the actions of someone out to destroy the CPP He must be rejected outright once and for all.
The CPP Sons and Daughters is a vanguard group formed to protect CPP interests and to help bring all true sons and daughters of the CPP back home.
We do not support or back any faction, we support the united Party against Traitor Ndoum.
