Alexander Akwasi Acquah, Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda, has challenged the government to broaden its anti-corruption efforts, arguing that past NDC administrations should also be investigated for wrongdoing.

In an exclusive interview with Captain Koda on OTEC 102.9 FM's morning show Nyansapo on Friday, January 17, 2025, Acquah questioned the government's focus on the previous administration, suggesting that this approach may be selective and biased.

His comments come following a decision by President John Dramani Mahama to set up an anti-corruption team, Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), to probe government appointees who allegedly looted state funds.

The MP emphasized that true accountability demands a comprehensive probe, including past NDC governments.

"Why the double standard?" Acquah asked. "If we're serious about fighting corruption, we must be willing to examine our own past," he told Captain Koda.

Acquah's call for equal scrutiny comes at a time when Ghanaians are increasingly demanding accountability from their leaders.

Many citizens feel that the government's anti-corruption efforts have been inconsistent and that some officials are being unfairly targeted.

By advocating for a more comprehensive approach to anti-corruption, Acquah hopes to promote a culture of transparency and accountability in Ghanaian politics.

"We need to ensure that everyone is held to the same standard, regardless of their party affiliation," he said.
