A High Court in Koforidua has dismissed a petition challenging the election of Frank Annoh-Dompreh as Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri in the December 7 parliamentary election.

The court also awarded GH¢25,000 in costs against the petitioner.

The petition, which sought to invalidate his election, was struck out on Thursday, April 10, 2025, following a legal application filed by the Director of Legal Affairs of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gary Nimako Marfo, according to a report by CitiNewsroom.com.

Presiding Judge, His Lordship Krofa Addae, who ruled in favour of the application to dismiss the case, stated that the court found no merit in the petitioner’s claims.

He further held that the results declared by the Electoral Commission (EC) reflected the true will of the people.

The legal challenge was initiated by the 2024 National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, Fummey Selorm Philibert, and his legal team, who sought to invalidate the outcome of the parliamentary elections.

On February 17, 2025, the Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the NDC, Dr Rashid Tanko Computer, announced that the party would pursue legal avenues to challenge the declaration of Annoh-Dompreh as the Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri.
