Ewurabena Aubynn is the NDC's parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma North
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Ablekuma North, Ewurabena Aubynn, has declared her party’s strong determination to unseat the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the ongoing parliamentary re-run, boldly stating, “We are sacking the elephant from Ablekuma North.”
Speaking to the media on July 11, 2025, during a tour of polling stations, Aubynn expressed satisfaction with the process so far, despite a relatively low voter turnout.
“So far, everything is okay. The turnout is low, but understandably so, it’s a working day, and people have to fend for themselves. Some voted before going to work, and we’re hopeful that others will return to cast their ballots before the polls close,” she said.
Aubynn also praised the peaceful atmosphere at the polling stations she had visited, commending the security arrangements in place.
“In terms of security, all the polling stations I have visited so far have been calm,” she noted.
Confident in her chances, she emphasised that the re-run was merely a continuation of the NDC’s December 2024 victory.
“At the end of the day, the greater win is for Ablekuma North, its people, and Ghana as a whole. Only one person will emerge the winner and that person is Ewurabena Aubynn,” she stated.
She concluded by reaffirming the NDC’s strong support for President John Mahama, noting that the party’s performance in the re-run reflects the overwhelming endorsement he received in the 2024 general elections.
