The Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Development Fund, Dr Hanna Louisa Bissiw, has expressed confidence that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma North, Ewurabena Aubynn, will emerge victorious in the ongoing parliamentary rerun.
Speaking to journalists on Friday, July 11, 2025, Dr Bissiw emphasised the party’s commitment to vigilance during the final stages of the election process.
“The NDC will be vigilant during the counting of ballot papers. We will not jubilate yet until the right figures are declared. The celebration will be after 9 P.M. when our candidate is officially declared the winner,” she stated.
Dr Bissiw, who also serves as the National Women's Organiser of the party, maintained that Ewurabena Aubynn won the 2024 parliamentary election but was denied her rightful victory, hence her confidence in the rerun.
“Ewurabena Aubynn won the 2024 parliamentary election, so her victory was denied. In this rerun, I am hopeful she will be declared the winner. For me, disappointment is not in my dictionary. Ewurabena will be declared the winner,” she added.
The rerun seeks to resolve an electoral dispute stemming from the December 7, 2024, elections.
The contest is between the NPP’s Nana Akua Afriyie and Ewurabena Aubynn of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
