Addressing allegations of vote-buying circulating after the primaries, the family rejected the claims, describing them as misleading and unfounded. The statement stressed that motivating and appreciating delegates is a common feature of democratic elections and should not be deliberately misconstrued as wrongdoing.
The family emphasised that delegates exercised their independent judgment in choosing their candidate, basing their decision on competence, credibility and merit. It added that, among all contestants, Baba Jamal Ahmed’s credentials, experience and overall competence stood out.
“He is a highly motivated team player, focused on results and committed to achieving set goals. His passion for service, innovation and excellence continues to inspire confidence among party members and constituents alike,” the statement noted.
