A former leading member and one-time Northern Regional Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Abdallah Hindu, has visited the party’s 2028 flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, at his residence in Accra to congratulate him on his recent emphatic victory and nomination as the NPP flagbearer.

The visit, hailed as a significant gesture of reconciliation, has been described by political commentator and former Mayor of Tamale, Musah Superior, as “a clear signal of growing unity within the party ahead of the 2028 elections.”

In a statement shared with GhanaWeb, Musah Superior noted that Hindu’s return is indicative of the flagbearer’s unifying posture and commitment to bringing all members on board.

“His determination not to leave anyone behind is most fascinating. We are seeing a massive groundswell of former members, both formally and informally, returning to the party. The evidence is visible all over the country,” he said.

Hindu’s reunion with the NPP has been widely welcomed as a positive step in consolidating the party.

Prior to the formation of the NPP, he was a foundation member of the Danquah-Busia Club in the Northern Region, which eventually evolved into the modern NPP.

In his statement, Musah Superior emphasised that this historical connection makes Hindu’s return particularly meaningful.

“The NPP is getting bigger and stronge. It is time to open our arms, put the past behind us, and work together to run an excellent campaign and win 2028,” he added.

I have seen a news report confirming that Alhaji Abdallah Hindu, a former leading member and one time Regional Organiser of the NPP has visited the flagbearer of the NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia at his residence in Accra to congratulate him on his recent emphatic victory; and nomination as the flagbearer of our great Party.

This is an excellent news! It is the proper thing to do.

This is a testament of the flagbearer’s unifying posturing and desire to bring everyone on board in this crucial journey we are undertaking. His determination not to leave anyone behind is most fascinating.

There is a massive groundswell of persons who formally or informally resigned from the Party to return home. The motivation is huge and the evidence is all over the country. The NPP is getting bigger and stronger.

We must open our arms and accept all our former members in good faith, put the past behind us and work together to fix the party, run an excellent campaign and win 2028 together.

I am particularly excited that Alhaji Hindu has finally “reunited” with the Party he worked very hard to form and built.

Prior to the formation of the NPP, he was one of the foundation members of the Danquah-Busia/Club in the Northern Region. I was there with him. The Danquah-Busia club metamorphosed into NPP.

Congratulations to Alhaji Hindu for doing the right thing at this critical juncture of our foward match.

God bless our Party and Country.
