Justin Kodua Frimpong is the General Secretary of the NPP
The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has accused sections of the judiciary of acting with political bias in favor of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
According to a newscard posted on Facebook by JoyNews and sighted by GhanaWeb on April 16, 2026, it said Kodua alleged that some judges have abandoned their judicial responsibilities and reduced themselves to remand officers.
“Some judges have reduced themselves to remand officers, acting in the interest of the NDC,” he stated.
His comments follow the recent remand of Abubakar Yakubu, popularly known as Baba Amando, the NPP Communications Officer for Sunyani East.
Yakubu was placed in police custody for two weeks over allegations of misconduct linked to political activities.
NPP party officials argue that his detention reflects judicial bias and is part of a broader attempt to intimidate NPP activists.
Meanwhile, just days earlier, Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC, the Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP, was also arrested by the Ghana Police CID on April 13, 2026.
He faced allegations of offensive conduct, false publication, and threats directed at a presiding judge before being released on bail.
