Ashanti NPP constituency chairmen elect new caucus executives ahead of 2028 polls

The Constituency Chairmen Caucus of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region has elected a new team of executives to lead its affairs following the successful conclusion of the party's constituency executive elections across the region.

The new leadership is expected to provide strategic direction for the caucus, deepen collaboration among constituency chairmen, and strengthen the party's grassroots structures as the NPP intensifies preparations for the 2028 general elections.

Leading the newly elected executives is the Constituency Chairman for Manso Adubia, Kofi Acheampong, who assumes office as Dean of the Caucus.

He will be assisted by the Juaben Constituency Chairman, Alex Kwabena Sarfo Kantanka, who was elected Vice Dean.

The Kwabre East Constituency Chairman, Frederick Agyemang Mensah, was elected Secretary, while Abdul Salam Issah, Constituency Chairman for Atwima Nwabiagya North, will serve as Spokesperson.

Other members of the executive include Kwame Owusu, Constituency Chairman for Adansi Asokwa, as Organizer, and Benjamin Fosu Nkrumah, Constituency Chairman for Asokwa, as Treasurer.

The Afigya Kwabre North Constituency Chairman, Thomas Hayford Ofosuhene, was elected Welfare Officer, while Kwaku Frimpong Patrick, Constituency Chairman for Bosome Freho, will serve as Chief Whip.

The caucus also appointed Dominic Bosompem, Constituency Chairman for Odotobri, as Senior Advisor.

He will be supported by a two-member Advisory Team comprising Edward Asadu and Rev. Amoasi Takyi, Constituency Chairman for Afigya Kwabre South.

The Ashanti Regional Constituency Chairmen Caucus remains one of the party's most influential grassroots structures, providing a platform for constituency chairmen to deliberate on organisational issues, promote unity within the party, and coordinate strategies aimed at consolidating the NPP's electoral dominance in its traditional stronghold.

Political observers believe the newly elected executives will play a critical role in mobilising the party's grassroots base, fostering cohesion among constituency leadership, and supporting the NPP's efforts to recapture political power in the 2028 general elections.
