The National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it will investigate allegations of vote-buying in its constituency executive elections if credible evidence is presented to the party’s national leadership.

Speaking on Starr FM on October 26, 2026, the Deputy Director of Elections and IT, Rashid Tanko-Computer said the NDC would not rely solely on information circulating on social media to determine if there were practices that undermined the electoral process.

“We are now in the era of social media where you have all manner of information flying out there. You can't just rely on that information and take decisions on that. You need to do further investigation. You need to have credible evidence to arrive at a conclusion,” he said.

Tanko-Computer also indicated that the party had not received specific evidence of vote-buying that would warrant an investigation at the national level.

“That's why I'm saying that we haven't gotten any information. Nobody has come forward with information that these are the things that happened. These are the evidence,” he noted.

He said the party was prepared to examine any credible evidence brought before its national executives and take appropriate action if wrongdoing was established.

Tanko-Computer maintained that the party would not condone practices that undermine the integrity of its internal electoral processes.

His comments follow concerns about the alleged use of money and other inducements in the internal party elections held on October 24, 2026.
