Takoradi, Nov. 12, GNA - The Western Regional branch of the Convention People's Party (CPP) on Saturday called on the party's members to refrain from declaring open support for any candidate willing to contest as the flag bearer of the party in the 2012 general elections.
This is because the National Executive Committee of the party has not yet given the green light for interested party members to either be nominated or go for primaries to win the slot as flag-bearer of the party.
A statement signed by Mr. Samuel Gordon Etroo, Western Regional Chairman and Mr. G. K. Alorzuke, Regional Secretary of the party respectively also called on the tertiary students' network of the party (TESCHART) and the youth in particular to desist from making any pronouncements in favour of any candidate before a decision was taking by the national executive of the party.
