The Ghana Peace Campaign would organize debates and quiz programmes for students in senior high schools in the 10 regions as part of its efforts to preach peace in the country, Mr Selassie Bi-Ben Elikplim, President of the Peace Campaign told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in a telephone interview on Monday.

He said students would be the best agents to be used to propagate peace during and after the elections.

Mr Elikplim, who is also Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Development Project, said the programme would encourage Ghanaians to maintain the peaceful atmosphere currently being enjoyed to promote the country’s democratic credentials.

Mr Elikplim appealed to the National Youth Authority (NYA) and Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs, to join hands with the Ghana Peace Campaign to enable it to achieve its objectives.

He urged politicians to learn to tolerate each others' divergent views, adding that without that, peace and development would elude the country.

Mr Fiifi Davis, Agona West Municipal Representative of Ghana Peace Campaign, said five senior high schools in the Municipality would be covered, adding that, other target groups in addition to the students are traditional rulers, churches, Muslims and Keep Fit Clubs.**
