-DCE stands accused

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kade Constituency in the Kwaebibrim District of the Eastern Region is in crisis as the Constituency and branch executives are accusing the DCE, Honourable Emmanuel R.A Osae of undermining the party’s parliamentary candidate, Mr. George Agyemang Duah and other party faithful in the constituency.
The DCE, who lost the party’s primaries in September last year to Mr. George Agyemang Duah is reported not to be on good terms with most party executives and sympathizers in the constituency which they say has divided the entire party membership and brought the party’s activities to almost a standstill in the constituency.
According to a petition served the General Secretary of the NDC in Accra by some constituency and branch executive of the party in the Kade “the Honourable District Chief Executive seems not to have come to terms with himself after losing the parliamentary primary election and has not been cooperating with the parliamentary candidate” and has not visited a single polling center at the constituency during the just ended biometric registration exercise, except where he DCE registered.
For instance, he did not visit a single polling centre at the Kade Constituency during the just-ended biometric registration exercise except where he registered.
According to the petitioners, the DCE has divided the ranks of the party in Kade by his deliberate exclusion of majority of party executives in all matters pertaining to the operations of the party. “Apparently worried by this development, the constituency executives invited him to a meeting to complain about his refusal to involve them in party matters, but he told the house without mincing words that he only deals with the Constituency Chairman and that it is not his business if the Chairman fails to disseminate information to them”.
They have also accused the District Chief Executive of aiding his nephew to send the party to court over chairs and canopies he had hired for use during the parliamentary primary election.
The DCE, the petition further stated, has been cruel to some party members whom he suspects were not in his camp during the parliamentary primaries in September 2011.
The petitioners concluding with this appeal “Sir, we see these developments as a threat to our electoral fortunes in the constituency in the 2012 elections because a divided house can never stand.
We therefore humbly petition that you help transfer Honourable Emmanuel R.A. Osae to the newly created Denkyembour district since he hails from Apinamang in the Denkyembour district according to his CV, and has a more pleasant relationship with Denkyembour party officials based on his own words in his letter attached to this petition…
“We also wish to appeal that you help replace him with an indigene of the Kade Constituency who can help accelerate the Better Ghana Agenda and unify the leadership as well as the rank and file of the party to enhance our electoral chances in the 2012 elections”.
However, when The Al-Hajj contacted the DCE, Mr. Emmanuel R.A Osae for his side of the story, he decline to comment citing the matter is before the Regional Minister and NDC party Headquarters, he nevertheless; deny all the charges.
Further, the DCE has frustrated all efforts for amicable settlement of the needless bickering. The Parliamentary Candidate, Mr. George Agyemang Duah in the company of some party elders in the constituency after the parliamentary primary election extended an olive branch to the DCE, but he told them point blank that the problem is unsolvable in the constituency and must be sent to the office of the Regional Minister.
In a letter copied to the Eastern Regional Minister, The General Secretary of the NDC, etc; explaining why he did not visit polling centres at the Kade Constituency, Mr. Emmanuel Osae unmistakably said, he only visited registration centres at the Akwatia Constituency because he has a more cordial relationship with the Akwatia constituency executives and their parliamentary candidate.
