About 89,863 eligible voters expected to exercise their franchise in Sunyani Municipality

A total of 89,863 eligible voters are expected to exercise their franchise in 145 polling stations in the Sunyani Municipality on December 7.

Six parliamentary candidates including a woman are contesting the Sunyani East Constituency that constitutes the Municipality.

They are Mr Kwasi Ameyaw Cheremeh, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament, Mr Philip Awuah for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mrs Vivian Kakie Tetteh for the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) and Mr Alanyina Sampana Sampson, for the People’s National Convention (PNC).

The rest are Mr Anthony Nana Antwi-Bosiako, for the National Democratic Party (NDP) and Mr Michael Kwame Mensah Asare, an Independent candidate,

Mr Yaw Opoku, Sunyani Municipal Electoral Officer in Sunyani, told the GNA in an interview on Thursday.

He said about 145 security personal are expected in the Municipality and 11 flash points have been identified.

Mr Opoku said the Liberation Barracks Primary School of the Third Garrison and Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Headquarters had been provisionally designated polling stations for the special voting for security personnel and officials of the Electoral Commission on December 4.
