Painstaking investigation conducted by DAILY GUIDE in 16 out of the 24 constituencies in the Brong Ahafo Region indicated that several NPP supporters were clamoring for Nana Akufo-Addo for the 2016 elections.

The paper randomly interviewed a cross-section of the party’s supporters and constituency executives.

A woman who sells smoked fish at the Sunyani Market, Maame Afia Dansoa said: “We all know the 2012 election was a stolen verdict. In fact, Nana won the election. If God says Nana will be the president of this country it will come to pass but it is up to the party to bring him on board again.”

Nana Addo would contest three elections in the country if the delegates elect him just like late President Mills, she said.

NPP supporters at Dormaa Ahenkrom, Jaman, Kenyasi, Berekum, Tano North and South shared similar sentiments.

Presently, they appear to back the Nana/Bawumia ticket.

Nyarko Abronoma told DAILY GUIDE at Tanoso that there is no need for anyone to contest Nana Akufo-Addo.

“Anyone who will like to contest Nana should use the resources to support him so that if Nana wins the 2016 elections they would all join his team to bring good things to the good people of Ghana.

Mr. Nyarko admonished Nana Akufo-Addo not to disappoint his teaming supporters, stressing that Abdullai Wade at age 75 won election in Senegal.

Those who are using age factor to discourage Nana Addo should revise their notes because he has the experience to steer the affairs of the country, he said.

In a related development, some people have started producing new T-Shirts with inscriptions: “STILL NANA” and “NO NANA, NO VOTE.”

When DAILY GUIDE interviewed a young man, who gave his name as Mohamed Gausu, a taxi driver in Techiman, he said they had formed an association to start campaigning for the NPP.

He said they decided to wear the T-Shirts to indicate their support for the candidature of Nana Akufo-Addo ahead of the flagbearership race.

According to Gausu, they do not intend to prevent anyone from contesting Nana since the constitution of the party kicks that move.
