…Arthur K. Supports Bature’s Verdict

The Communication Director for Nana Akufo-Addo’s 2008 campaign, DrKobina Arthur Kennedy, has affirmed statements by Managing Editor of The aL-hAJJ that the New Patriotic Party’s twice rejected presidential aspirant is an avid exponent of violence and hooliganism.

Confirming Alhaji Bature Iddrisu’s assessment of Nana Akufo-Addo, and without mincing words, Dr Arthur Kennedy noted that the former Abuakwa South legislator has ‘huge mountains to climb’ extricating himself from his bad record on violence that needs to be exposed.

“… Ask why he has kept quiet on the many violent activities of people believed to be his supporters? Why is he quiet? Why did he say ‘all-die-be-die’ and why did he say Atiwa? Put those questions to him and expose his record on violence,”

Perhaps, inspired by the recent spate of violence that rocked the opposition NPP, and possibly making deductions from his “good old days” with Nana Akufo-Addo when he served as his Communication Director, the former NUG’s President unmistakably touted the Akyem Septuagenarian as a violent politician.

Sharing his thoughts on NEAT FM in Accra on the NPP’s recent supper delegates’ congress to prune down flag bearer aspirants from 7 to 5 which Nana Akufo-Addo won overwhelming, the one-time flag bearer aspirant implored Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten to come out and expose Nana Addo’s “bad reputation on violence”.

According to Dr Arthur Kennedy, who is the author of “Chasing the Elephant into the Bush”, the former Foreign Affairs Minister in the Kufuor administration has lingering questions to answer over his deafening silence on recent spate of ugly and appalling violence and lawlessness in the party.

Dr Arthur Kennedy’s advice came hours after Managing Editor of The aL-hAJJ stated on Adom FM, Wednesday, that until Nana Akufo-Addo purge himself of rowdiness, the NPP will never taste power as they are wishing to do in the upcoming 2016 elections.

While exonerating Nana Akufo-Addo of any corruption record, Alhaji Bature sated “…If you look at the trend as far as political violence is concerned, Nana Addo, since the NPP Legon Congress which he [Nana Addo] did not get the 50% yet got the opportunity to lead the NPP, look at what happened in Legon. And after Legon throughout 2008 and 2012, within the NPP and in the country…there is always tension. These same Nana Addo supporters pummeled the current NPP National Chairman [Paul Afoko] to the extent that the tension created forced Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten to withdraw from the congress [2007 NPP congress] which was supposed to go on a second round…”

“…I don’t know whether it is by design, but suddenly everyone who supports Nana Addo has become radical hardliners. They are lawbreakers.” he added.

“Nana Addo never came out to condemn the recent clash at the NPP headquarters. Almost all the miscreants in the NPP are associated with Nana Addo”.

Alhaji Bature further wondered why all ten NPP regional chairmen appear to have sold their conscience to Nana Addo and have suddenly shown a proclivity for violence.

“All ten regional chairmen are mobsters now. That is why Nana Addo was more popular and won. They can intimidate. People are scared about their lives because of Nana Addo and his followers,” he stated.

He therefore warned Ghanaians to be wary of Nana Addo’s presidential ambition saying; “That man [Nana Addo] can bring Ghana down in the next 800 days if elected as Ghana’s president. Suddenly, Nana Addo has become ‘God’ in the NPP… why?”
