A 50-year-old female Legal Practitioner and Human Rights Activist, Ms Joyce Opoku-Boateng has picked a nomination form to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries for Nkawkaw constituency.

The constituency Secretary of the party, Mr Andy Ameyeaw presented the nomination form to Ms Opoku-Boating at the constituency office at Nkawkaw after he had received a Ghc 1,000.00 banker’s draft filing fee to contest the primaries from her .

He said, as part of the party’s internal democracy, the nominations are open to all party members in all constituencies throughout the country for interested members from March 16 to April 30 to contest the parliamentary primaries.

Mr Ameyaw advised Ms Opoku-Boateng to conduct her campaign with decency devoid of personal attacks and urged her supporters to refrain from acts that would bring the party into disrepute.

Ms Opoku-Boateng said the impressive votes she had when she contested the 2012 primaries in the constituency showed that the people had confidence in her to represent them in parliament to solve some of the constituency’s numerous social problems.

She promised to cooperate with the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mr Eric Kwakye Darffour, who had also picked his nomination form and other contestants to ensure successful primaries.
