The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Subin Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Eugene Antwi has described functionaries of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) as thieves.
In his view, persons in government are dissipating state resources with impunity on unproductive projects and cannot account for monies given to them.
“They are thieves because they cannot account for monies we have given to them. Where is the money we they took for SADA and doled out to private companies to embark on tree planting and guinea fowl rearing”, he quizzed.
According to the candidate, he has every justification to describe them as thieves because their thievery is the reason the Former Coordinator for GYEEDA and Member of Parliament (MP) for Chiana-Paga Abuga Pele and Former NSS Boss are in court.
He said what currently pertains in the current dispensation is not corruption but thievery which can only be dealt with if the NDC is voted out of power at the polls.
At Ultimate Fm’s maiden edition of Kumasi Speaks held in the Subin Constituency, he told host Lantam Papanko that various projects initiated by the current government under the guise of alleviating poverty, is only meant to enrich some greedy functionaries and not in the interest of the larger population.
