Ashanti Regional Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sam Pyne has accused the independent candidate at the Suame Constituency of taking bribe from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He wondered why the defeated Parliamentary Candidate Hayford Osei Bempeh would allow himself to be used by the NDC to bring division in the constituency.

According to him, loyal party members will not accept bribes from opponents just to tarnish the image of his own kinsman.

Mr. Pyne called on the electorate to ignore Bempeh and concentrate on voting massively for the party’s Flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Bempeh believes the incumbent MP Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has under performed, hence a decision to unseat him with the support of some faceless members in the constituency.

But speaking on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkrah, Mr.Pyne claimed it’s the game plan of NDC to foment troubles in NPP in the region by using their members as bait.

‘Those who think like Hayford by pursuing different agendas are sponsored by NDC. Those who are tarnishing the image of our candidate should be careful. I am a politician and I know the game plan of NDC for the region, likewise all our members who went independent are NDC sponsored,’ he said.

He remarked that the incumbent MP is one of the MPs who increased Nana Addo’s votes in 2012 elections.

‘If he has taken money from NDC, what they are saying will not work. His achievements will marvel you, who can boldly discredit the credentials of Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu,’ he remarked.

Asked his opinion on the accusations that the MP has not constructed roads, he retorted ‘MPs facilitate but do not construct roads’.

The Ashanti Regional General Secretary of NPP warned party members in bed with NDC to desist from their actions.

He indicated that one risks sacking himself if he goes independent according to the dictates of the party rules.

He admonished sponsored NDC people in NPP to back off.
