Parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Tema Central constituency, Madam Ebi Bright, has said she is determined to wrestle the seat from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), come December 7.

According to her, she is undaunted by the position of incumbent MP for the area considering the numerous projects undertaken by President John Dramani Mahama.

Ms. Bright said this when she launched her campaign in Tema to canvass for votes to be elected the MP and for President Dramani Mahama to be retained in government.

She said the fact that the president has embarked on many projects in the country including Tema amongst which are Maritime Hospital, Port expansion projects etc., show that the people of Tema have benefitted immensely from the NDC.

“With the kind of support I am getting from my constituency executives and the residents in Tema, I am confident that the seat will go to the NDC this time around.” she stressed.

Ms. Bright said as part of their manifesto, government was expanding the Tema General Hospital, the motorway extension and revamping the Black Star Line.

These, he indicated, will bring about job creation for the youth in Tema.

For his part, National Chairman of the NDC, Mr. Kofi Portuphy, encouraged the youth to volunteer to be trained as polling agents, especially those who can read and write and are knowledgeable in handling computers.

He also advised the residents to come out in their numbers on the election day to vote for President Mahama to continue with his good works.

National Organiser of the NDC, Mr. Kofi Adams, added his voice by calling on all NDC members to come out and campaign vigorously for the party.

He wondered why the NPP was campaigning in Tema because it was the UP that disagreed with the development of Tema which they now claim is their stronghold.

Those who attended the programme included Dr. Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, Dan Abodakpi, Siidi Abubakar and Marrietta Brew Appiah Oppong.
