The member of Parliament (MP) for Tema East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, has cautioned that his seat is not up to be contested with the metropolitan chief executive (MCE) of Tema.

According to him, he would fight vehemently to retain his seat if he was going to be contested.

“I would fight with the last drop of my blood to make sure that I retain my seat as Member of Parliament for Tema East,” he declared.

Most of the MCEs who have steered the affairs of Tema have contested for the Tema East seat and it is against this backdrop that the MP sent the stern warning to the newly appointed MCE for Tema, Felix Mensah Anang-la.

He made these assertions during the confirmation of the Tema mayor on Friday.

Out of the 47 constituted assembly members, 46 voted in favour, representing 97.9 percent of the total valid votes cast while only one voted against.

Following the outcome of the result, Mr. Felix Nii Mensah Anang-La was confirmed as the MCE for Tema.

In his acceptance speech, he reiterated President Akufo-Addo’s vision to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa, adding that he would also ensure that the vision comes to bear on the Tema metropolis by ensuring proper sanitation.

He further called on the assembly members to rally behind his appointment and work as a cohesive team to achieve his vision – “Tema Restoration Agenda.”

He pledged to give listening ears, to all issues pertaining to Tema.

At Ningo-Prampram in the Greater Accra Region, Jonathan Teye Doku, has also been crowned district chief executive (DCE) of the area.

All the 32 members of the assembly voted for him for a 100% endorsement.

Speaking after his endorsement, he stated that his victory did not call for merry making, but rather, a resolve to deliver the mandate bestowed on him.

“Let’s put aside political affiliations and work for the betterment and development of Ningo-Prampram,” he charged.
