Persons seeking to be parliamentarians in the Walewale constituency of the Northern Region are to blame for the raging confusion over the nomination and confirmation of a District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area. That's according to Abdulai Abubakari.

Youth leader, Abdulai Abubakari said these individuals including the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) Dr Sagre Bambangi see the rejected nominee, Saaka Sayuti as a threat to their ambitions and therefore ganged up to block him from being confirmed.

He disclosed that youth of the area are peace loving persons but will only want the nomination of the current District Chief Executive (DCE) revoked because he is not known to the party.

“It is people who are pursuing their selfish interest who are the cause of the problems in Walewale. They see Saaka Sayuti as a threat to their parliamentary ambitions meanwhile he is the same person to have worked very well for the party while we were in opposition. Now that the party has seen power they want him relegated”, he said on Tuesday.

Abdulai Abubakari expressed regrets over the rowdy conduct of the youth but said it should be blamed squarely on these interested individuals who are manipulating the system for their personal interest serving notice that they will pursue the matter to its logical conclusion.

“We will use the appropriate means in fighting including petitioning the president to withdraw the nomination of Abu Mohammed who is an alien. If they will not bring back Saaka Sayuti then they should get other persons who are more competent than the one nominated as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area”, he stated.
