You're right NON-ALIGNED, Ghana would not get anywhere "with the same old CHEW, POUR, PASS & FORGET syndrome ".
I blame our educationists, they behave as if they haven't heard of Benjamin Bloom's Taxonomy of Educational Objectives:
Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Synthesis & Evaluation.

After they CHEW and remember the facts, terms & basic concepts without necessarily understanding what they mean, they would have problem with comprehension which involves demonstrating of facts & ideas.

The application objective requires the students to use the acquired knowledge to solve problems, identity connections & relationships, how they apply in new situations.

Ghanaian students don't do any of these; neither do they analyze, synthesize, or evaluate.

At the Evaluation objective, learners are expected to present and defend opinions by making judgments about information based on a set of criteria.

Would our new free SHS attempt to use Bloom's Taxonomy of Educational Objectives?
Our nation could benefit from using them.
