Accra, Aug. 19, GNA - Dr Edmund Delle, National Chairman of the People's Convention Party (CPP) on Thursday said the Party was committed to taking the country out of its economic stagnation when voted into power.

He said the CPP had the historical responsibility to secure economic independence for Ghana, having already attained political independence for the country.

Addressing the Osudoku Constituency Delegates' Conference at which Mr Elias Nomo Tetteh, an Educationist, was elected as the Party's parliamentary candidate for Shai-Osudoku, Dr Delle noted that to achieve good results in the forthcoming elections the members should have time, talent, money and above all discipline.

He called on members to go to every corner of the constituency to propagate the good news of the rebirth of CPP and asked the electorate to vote for Mr George Aguddey as the President and Mr Tetteh as the Member of Parliament for Shai-Osudoku.

Dr Nii Gbobilor Fleischer, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman, noted that Shai-Osuduoku was a traditional CPP area and, therefore, called on members to work hard to recapture it. Mr Tetteh thanked the members for the confidence reposed in him and promised to co-operate with the Constituency Executive to win the seat for the CPP.
