Madam Dzifa Aku Attivor, former Minister of Transport, Monday launched her campaign to contest the Volta Regional Chairmanship position for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and asked delegates to vote for her to attract first-time voters.

She also promised togive hope to branches of the Party in the Region, adding that the Party needed leadership that could attract all voters in the Volta Region to reposition it as NDC’s “World Bank” and said she was ready to build a Party that would stand the test of time.

Madam Attivor said her aim was to unite the Party, reconnect the Party with the cadres, get women to play key roles and to build strong partnership with the media.

She said Ghanaians were “no longer ready for President Akufo-Addo, beyond 2020,” therefore there was the need for NDC to put its house in order to compete “strongly” in 2020.

“The mood in Ghana today is that of disappointment and regret…, we are living in the worst period and the most incompetent government under the fourth republic,” Madam Attivor said.

In her manifesto, Madam Attivor promised to set up a fund to address welfare concerns of members of the Party, “eradicate the greedy and selfish” tag on NDC and empower over-bank communities with outboard motors to facilitate their work, before, during and after the 2020 general elections.

The former Transport Minster is in the race with the incumbent Regional Chairman, Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, for the elections scheduled for September, this year. GNA
