Kwame Danso (B/A), Oct. 13, GNA - The New Patriotic Party (NPP) would train Polling Station Executive Officers to man the 21,000 polling stations throughout the country, during the 2004 General Election. Mr Dan Botwe, General Secretary of NPP, announced this when he addressed the Party's Sene Constituency Executives at Kwame Danso in the Brong-Ahafo Region.
He also met with the various executive members of Atebubu-Amantin and Pru constituencies and made separate presentation of a number of bicycles to the three Constituencies.
The Sene Constituency additionally received one Model 40 Enduro Yamaha Outboard Motor.
Mr Botwe urged Party Executives, supporters and sympathizers to do everything possible to ensure that the NPP won the Sene, Atebubu-Amantin and Pru Parliamentary Seats, which had been occupied by National Democratic Congress (NDC) since 1992.
He said the Party had identified factors that accounted for its defeat in the three constituencies and that necessary steps were being taken to reverse the trend.
Mr Botwe urged NPP supporters, particularly Polling Station Executives in the area to offer themselves for training to enable them to assist in ensuring smooth polls. He advised them against petty squabbles that could tear the Party apart and instead to unite and work hard to enable the NPP to win in the constituencies.
Alhaji Abdulai Salifu, Dagomba Chief at Amantin, donated two million cedis to support the campaign programmes of Atebubu-Amantin Constituency towards the December elections. He advised Party members to check their names on the Voter's Register that was currently being exhibited.
