Kintampo (B/A), Oct 27, GNA - Mr Kwasi Adu-Gyan, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Kintampo South Constituency, has said he would place a high premium on education if he won the December election.

Mr Adu-Gyan told the GNA at Kintampo on Monday that he would seek to improve upon the low standard of education in the area and expressed concern about the increasing number of school dropouts in the area as a result of parental irresponsibility.

He would also provide job opportunities in the Constituency to give employment to people in the area.

Mr Adu-Gyan said he would initiate private sector development planning programmes and seek financial assistance for the people. The youth in the area would also be encouraged to learn vocations to acquire employable skills to set up their own businesses. Mr Adu-Gyan, who is also a Special Assistant to the Minister of Communications, promised to ensure that communities in the Constituency were provided with electricity in order that cottage industries could be established in the area to enhance development. He would also liaise with the Department of Feeder Roads to rehabilitate the roads in the area to facilitate the movements of the people and goods.
