Prsident Kufuor asks electorate to vote for him

Kodie (Ash), Oct 31, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor has called on the electorate to vote for him and all New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidates in Election 2004.

He said he needed the Party's Parliamentary Candidates to help him lead the nation and not the "Sankofas or the Independent candidates, who have different political ideas and programmes".


President Kufuor was addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of the newly created Kwabre West Constituency at Kodie as part of his official working visit to the Ashanti Region on Saturday. He thanked the people for showing love and appreciation for the work of his Government.


President Kufuor introduced Mr Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah, the Parliamentary Candidate for the Kwabre West, to the people and said the candidate was a good material who could help him including the other candidates to lead the country politically.

He said the NPP Government had been able to build a solid foundation for the people of Ghana and needed their mandate to continue. Mr Sampson Kwaku Boafo, Ashanti Regional Minister, expressed the hope that Ghanaians would vote massively to return President Kufuor to power to continue with his good work.


Nana Ameyaw Kotoko II, Chief of Mowire, congratulated the President on his efforts to ensure peace and security in the country and said the people were solidly behind him and his Government.


He urged the President to ensure that some of the roads in the Constituency especially Afrancho - Ntribuoho and Atimatim - Maase - Buoho, which he said were crying for rehabilitation. He also called for the proper development of schools to ensure quality education in the area.
