Volta Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr James Gunu has said the Party needs to work hard to ensure its members remain united.
He said the NDC must develop mechanisms to check internal wrangling and cement its position as the "only hope for Ghana".
Mr Gunu said this when the Ave Dakpa Market queen, and some Party members from the Akatsi North District paid a courtesy call on him on Thursday.
"Unity must be a part and parcel of our everyday life. It is necessary for upholding the integrity of the Party," he said.
Mr Gunu said transparency and accountability held the key to effective decentralisation and called on executives of the Party to involve the grassroots in decision making.
Madam Olivia Ziddah, a member of the Party in Akatsi North, said they needed Party cards for new members in the District and appealed to the Regional Sectary to help regularise them.
